Luminary Member Precious Williams

Tell us a bit about yourself! How did you get started with your current career path/business journey?

Meet the #KillerPitchMaster - Precious L. Williams. To understand me is to understand my experience. I once weighed 327 pounds and somehow used my moxie, grit and determination to talk my way into funding for a company that didn’t even exist — Curvy Girlz Lingerie. I made this company a reality and my ability to think on my feet, boldly break the rules and tell a story has since made me the #KillerPitchMaster. Some also refer to me as the female McGuyver of business! Not only am I a 13-time elevator pitch champion, I’ve successfully appeared on “Shark Tank” and taken my company from $0 to multi-6 figures in less than 2 years. I’ve since watched my clients gain national and international media attention, secure corporate training contracts and launch their next beautiful NOW! Dropping Names Besides helping women entrepreneurs and business leaders, I also conduct corporate trainings, helping teams to create killer communication skills, craft messaging and understand how to pitch and build sales programs. I’m also a world-class speaker for global brands including: Harvard University, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, George Washington University, Intuit Quickbooks, NBC Universal, PwC and more. Never one to forget my roots, I give back by working with organizations like Bottomless Closet, the Bowery Women’s Mission and Dress for Success. Ain’t Nothing But Some Accolades I’m featured in a MasterCard “Priceless” commercial, am a 4-time Book of the Year Finalist, a Stevie Awards “Maverick of the Year” Silver Medalist, a 2021 Leadership in Action Awardee for Career Mastered and an ICABA 2021 Women of Impact Awardee.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

I attribute my second chance success to being unapologetically me, accepting that I am fierce, bold and know my skill set very well. I am a world- class communicator in all realms of pitching.

What’s a mistake you made early on in your career, or in your business, and what did you learn from it?

The first time I was successful, I was not comfortable in my own skin. I believed that because I came from the bottom, I did not deserve the success I was experiencing. I self-sabotaged and lost many lucrative opportunities because of my fear of not measuring up to what I thought I should look and sound like!

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Executive presence and strategic financial planning

How do you invite others to take a seat at the table?

I call them up, text and email them to meet me at the Luminary so they can see the space, how warm the members are and interact. I invite them to #comesitatourtable. I even paid for my friend's membership because this space and place has reignited my soul and my business.

What is one thing you wish you knew a year ago?

That who I am is enough as I am!

What impact has Luminary made in your career? eg: Business Generated, Revenue, New Clients, Career Connections, Advancement Opportunities

My revenue increased 300% since being a member, I was able to shoot a Masterclass "Priceless" add campaign here, Yelp booked me as a Speaker because of the Luminary. The connections, clients, etc have blown my mind!!!!
