How did you discover Luminary?
The Second Shift was one of the first corporate members of Luminary, and it's been our corporate headquarters since early last year.

What is your current career path/business journey?
I am currently COO and Head of Product at The Second Shift, a talent marketplace for professional women to find flexible work opportunities.

What steps did you take to lead you to your current career path/business journey? 

I have worked in NYC-based tech startups since the late 90s. At this stage in my career, I am interested in working with companies that make an impact. The mission of The Second Shift was particularly appealing as a woman in tech, as I was often the only woman in the room.

What is the most challenging and/or rewarding aspect of your career?
I love making things, so the process of building, whether it's a digital product or a company is most rewarding to me.

How are you inviting others to take a seat at the table?
I take seriously the duty of mentorship. I try to encourage my team members and friends to figure out what they want to do, and I help them to get there.

Who is your Luminary and why? 

My mom moved to the United States by herself at age 23, speaking little English having survived the Korean War. Soon she was managing a young family and pursuing a Masters Degree in Fine Art. Her bravery to take a risk to change the course of her life inspires me every day.
