Meet Luminary Member, Cassandra Sethi

Tell us a bit about yourself! How did you get started with your current career path/business journey?

After working in the fashion industry for 20 years, most recently as the creator of Soulcycle's retail business and Senior Buyer at Equinox Gyms. After working behind the scenes, I decided that I could have the most impact by working with clients one on one- to help them create a work wardrobe they love to wear. I started my personal styling business, Next Level Wardrobe with a mission that great style is simple and now work with men and women all over the world.

How are you overcoming challenges during the pandemic as a business owner?

Prior to COVID, I only offered in person styling experiences. Now I've completely pivoted my business to be virtual without sacrificing the client experience. Virtual styling will be a big part of my business going forward.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Curiosity. I'm a very curious person, who asks a lot of questions and that has served me well in my business so I can keep serving my clients and expanding my company.c

What’s a mistake you made early on in your career, and what did you learn from it?

Being a perfectionist! I remember very early in my business, one night I was hellbent on getting the copy on my website to be left justified. I spent HOURS on it and it didn't yield any tangible results. I learned then to be ok with 'good enough' and spend my valuable time on areas of my business that actually drive sales.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

SEO! I hired a consultant earlier this year and have been learning a lot about SEO- it's become a big lead funnel for my business.

In what ways are you taking care of your personal well being and what are your #selfcare tips?

I've been prioritizing my workouts-- which I view as my 'me time'. My husband and I also got into weekly dates and family phone calls as a way to stay connected.

How are you inviting others to take a seat at the table #virtually?

I've been connecting with girlfriends to talk about what's happening this year, how they're feeling and sharing helpful resources. With everything going on this year, it's been important to keep a supportive circle around at all times.

What impact has Luminary made in your career? eg: Business Generated, Revenue, New Clients, Career Connections, Advancement Opportunities

It's been wonderful to be a part of the Luminary community- pre COVID I attended a few events and a few months ago found a wonderful webinar teacher through Luminary. Her course has helped me take my webinars to the next level.
